Weighing Detector
The weighing detector is another term for a Load cell or force sensor. Like many sensors, weight sensors are available in many different forms or types. Each type of weight sensor has features that make them well suited to different applications.
Weighing detectors are a device used to measure force and load. They convert weight into an electrical signal which can be processed and used within various applications. To measure force and weight, most weight sensors used internal strain gauges to measure the weight.
Weight Sensor Types
There are various types of weight sensors available. Our selection includes:
Single Point - Single point weight sensors or load cells are the most common type of load cell. This type of weight sensor can measure off-center loads which are useful for various types of scales. They are often used in low-capacity compact weighing systems.
S-Type - S Type weight sensors are shaped like the letter “s” hence the name. They are commonly used in both tension and compression applications offering high endurance and compact designs. S-Type weight sensors are suitable for applications in hoppers and truck scales, tank level scales, mechanical to electrical scales conversions, and level, and inventory monitoring.
Shear Beam and Bending Beam - Bending beam weight sensors often offer low profile construction and making them well suited to applications in restricted areas as well as OEM applications and multiple cell applications. They are very cost-efficient and some models are corrosion resistant and well suited to harsh environments.
Miniature - Miniature weight sensors are small sensors, some as small as 1cm for applications where space can be extremely tight. They are still rugged and reliable and can be used in various industrial weighing applications.
Tension and Compression - Most weight sensors come into the category of Tension and Compression. This is a very broad term to encompass weight sensors. Tension and compression weight sensors are used for all types of applications that involve measuring weight and force. ; ;
How to Use Hand Held Metal Detectors for People Scanning
Metal detectors use electromagnetic fields to actively detect the presence of metallic objects. A handheld metal detector ;wand has two primary components, a transmitter coil that creates the electromagnetic field and a receiver coil that detects electromagnetism. An electromagnetic field is generated around the transmitter coil which extends to around 20cm from the security wand. When the wand is passed over a subject's body if a metal object falls into the generated electromagnetic field a further electromagnetic field is induced around the hidden metal object. This new electromagnetic field is detected by the receiver coil which will trigger an alert for the operator.
High-quality handheld security metal detectors offer various alarm indicators including visual LEDs, selectable audible alarms, and vibration. The best handheld metal detectors are self-calibrating, eliminating the need for regular sensitivity adjustment. They are light-weight, ergonomically designed and a standard 9v battery will provide around 80 hours of continuous operation.
